Vincent Liew
Vincent
Liew is Information Manager for Brunei Shell Petroleum Co Sdn Bhd. since July
'04. Prior to this appointment, he was the project coordinator leading the
implementation of SAP for BSP, BLNG and BST which went live successfully in
Jan 2004 with 1500 users.
He joined BSP as a petroleum engineer in 1977 after graduating from City University
of London and Imperial College with a BSc(1st class) in aeronautical engineering
and MSc in petroleum engineering respectively. As a petroleum engineer, he
was extensively involved at all levels in the development of oil and gas fields
in Brunei. He specialized in reservoir engineering with special achievements
made in harnessing new drilling technologies to design novel approaches to
exploiting marginal oil fields.
He made an early contribution to solving the challenge of digital divide in
Brunei was when he spearheaded the setup a computer club in a school 10 years
ago.

Md. Mahmud Hasan
Dr.
Mahmud is working as a lecturer at the Dept. of Mathematics, UBD. He obtained
his B.Sc and M.Sc in Applied Physics and Electronics from the University of
Rajshahi, Bangladesh and completed his Ph.D. from the University Putra Malaysia
in 1995. In his career he served as a programmer, systems analyst, researcher
in telecommunication industry, and academic positions in various Universities.
Dr. Mahmud supervised 10 M.S. research students in the areas of Internet appliances,
artificial intelligence, embedded system and robotics. In addition to research
publication in International refereed journals, he has to his credit, one
software product called LerNet (for web education) and one hardware product
Internet appliance ECG recorder(for tele-medicine). He worked as the Head
of the Robotics Research Center, Institute of Advanced Research, UPM, and
led a research group on Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) for the Internet security.
His current research interests are voice conversion and bio-mechanics.
